You're a founder with a validated idea and a clear product in mind. Now you need a designer who understands marketplaces - someone who can translate features into clean, intuitive experiences without endless calls or vague feedback loops.
This service is perfect for you if:
The UX/UI implementation package includes:
We’ll align on your priorities and features (either from a scoping project or your own docs). Everything is organised into sprints, with feature cards in Trello.
Mobile and desktop layouts, designed to be beautiful, intuitive, and buildable. Designs are tailored to your platform (e.g. Sharetribe or custom build).
Each sprint includes a Loom walkthrough and two structured rounds of revisions. No calls required, just clear, concise collaboration.
Final designs are delivered in a clean Figma file, annotated with logic, states, and interaction guidance. You’ll also receive a dev handoff Loom if needed.
I work in structured design sprints, breaking down your features into manageable, reviewable pieces, so you always know what’s in progress and what’s coming next. Here’s how the process works from start to finish:
We begin by reviewing your feature list (usually from a scoping project or your own documentation). I’ll organise each feature into a shared Trello board grouped into sprints. This step ensures we’re aligned on what we’re designing and how it fits into your roadmap.
Each sprint typically covers 2–4 features, depending on complexity. I start by designing UX flows to confirm structure and logic, then progress to high-fidelity UI in Figma.
Once a sprint is ready, I’ll send you a Loom walkthrough with context and rationale, and invite feedback directly in Figma or via comments. You’ll get two rounds of structured revisions per sprint to keep things smooth and focused.
After feedback is applied, I finalise the designs, annotate anything your developers need to know (states, edge cases, interactions), and organise the Figma files for easy handoff.
You’ll receive a dev-ready file plus an optional Loom walkthrough that explains the screens and logic for your build team.
We repeat the sprint cycle until all agreed features are delivered. At this point, you can either wrap the project, move into a light-touch monthly retainer, or pause and return later when new needs arise.

Take a look at some of the marketplaces I’ve helped design and grow.
I designed custom features that improved the booking and listing functionality. I also created tailored UI designs that aligned with Bedspoke’s premium branding, elevating the overall user experience.
I designed advanced custom features for Analogr, including a timed auction and watchlists to enhance buyer engagement. I also delivered bespoke UI designs aligned with Analogr’s vintage-inspired, music-centric branding.
I redesigned FinerFiner’s core pages—including the homepage, search, and listing pages—to improve navigation and showcase listings more effectively. My designs reflected FinerFiner’s elegant brand identity.
I designed major custom features for Circulate, enabling more complex purchasing flows and improved supplier management. I also delivered custom UI designs aligned with Circulate’s sustainable, B2B-focused branding.
Enhance your marketplace with user-friendly features designed for both desktop and mobile.

UX and brand design are both essential, but they serve different purposes. This video explains how they complement each other and why both are valuable for your business.
Not necessarily. If you already have a clear, well-documented list of features and you’re confident in what you need to build, we can go straight into design.
However, if your vision is still a bit scattered or you’re unsure what’s essential for MVP, I strongly recommend starting with the Marketplace MVP Blueprint. It will save time, reduce rework, and make the design process far smoother.
Each sprint includes two rounds of structured feedback and revisions, which keeps us focused and avoids endless loops.
After I deliver a sprint, you’ll have a few days to leave comments or questions. I’ll address these in one clean update. If you need major changes after that, we can scope them separately or treat them as a new sprint.
This system ensures the project moves forward without dragging and respects your time as much as mine.
No. I focus purely on UX and UI design. However, I collaborate with trusted developers who work with Sharetribe and other platforms. I’m happy to coordinate with your existing team or refer someone if you need development support.
I can also record a Loom walkthrough for your devs to make sure they fully understand the logic and flow of the designs.
Yes! If a new feature comes up during the project, we’ll assess its size and complexity and either add it to the next sprint or quote it separately.
You’ll always know what’s in scope and what’s being worked on. This keeps the project flexible without becoming chaotic.
Once your designs are complete and handed off to your developers, we can end the project with everything you need to build. However, you’re welcome to continue working with me in a range if different capacities. A couple of examples are:
This gives you support options without locking you into an ongoing contract.
From Hawaii to Sydney and everywhere in between, I love working with clients all around the world. In fact, I pride myself on being able to work very effectively, asynchronously.
I use the time difference to work to my advantage and find that it works especially well with clients in America. This is because I can work whilst you're asleep. When you wake up, you'll have all day to review my designs and send me feedback. Then, the following morning (my time), I can review your feedback and jump straight into any design iterations that are required.
If we need to jump on a call, we can work together to find a time that works for us both.
I've been lucky enough to work with founders in a wide range of industries. Here are some examples of industries I have experience with:
Let’s work together strategically, sprint by sprint.
"Fiona came highly recommended from Sharetribe and our vendor, Journey Horizon. She exceeded all expectations with her organisation, skill, and delivery. Her flexibility to work with us as we iterated on design was very accommodating. Besides being a joy to work with, she impressed us with her design sensibilities and UX recommendations. For a startup launching an innovative platform, Fiona was the perfect partner."
Francis Porter
Co-Founder at ANALOGr
"To define Fiona as just a designer would be an injustice. She is a holistic online marketplace consultant who delivers high quality designs at lightning speed. Her ability to think through the objectives given by us, plan the entire user workflow, and finding the right solutions through her designs in a collaborative manner swiftly sets her apart from everyone else. We are very happy with the work she has done for InsightGig and would highly recommend Fiona to anyone looking for a professional designer for their online marketplace."
Sridhar V
Co-Founder at InsightGig
"If you're seeking a thorough, proactive, and professional designer with excellent communication skills, look no further than Fiona. She played a crucial role in launching my marketplace, offering valuable recommendations that saved me time and money in the long run. Acting as both a guide and designer, Fiona's expertise was invaluable during the startup phase. Despite the time zone difference, our collaboration was seamless, with completed design sections waiting for me in the morning. Fiona grasped my vision and created a design that felt clean and distinctly feminine, perfectly tailored to my target audience. Without hesitation, I would hire Fiona again for future projects. I hesitated to write this recommendation because I'm afraid everyone will want to snatch her up!"
Lauren Cain
Founder at Homebaked
"My team love working on projects that Fiona is involved in as she has an excellent understanding of Sharetribe and knows how to deliver clear requirements. She has made our development work much easier. Fiona is also great at helping the business owner turn their idea into a working marketplace. In short she is the true definition of a user experience designer."
